SMA began in 1964 with the father-son team of Bill Hurt, Sr. and Bill Hurt, Jr. It was a rather modest start – a smattering of farm parts on white butcher paper spread across an old, dusty ping pong table. Today, after over a half-century of family ownership, SMA calls itself America's Ag Parts Supplier – and with good reason.

SMA offers some 60,000 agricultural-related parts to customers across the United States. We do this from four distribution centers strategically located in Jonesboro, Arkansas; Corsicana, Texas; Des Moines, Iowa and Fresno, California. Our lineup of products includes trusted mainline brands and value brands, plus our own brands, including TISCO, which has long been known at the trusted name in tractor parts.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE - JONESBORO:

SMA is seeking an Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative in the Jonesboro, Arkansas office to perform the following tasks:

This Position Will:

  • Maintain customer relationships by providing outstanding customer service.
  • Receive inbound calls and enter customer orders.
  • Provide pricing, availability, and delivery information to customers.
  • Research, identify, and effectively communicate product information to customers.
  • Maintain electronic customer account information.
  • Provide support to field sales team.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements Include:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A customer-oriented, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work in an office setting.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

 

  • Familiarity with agricultural or other heavy equipment
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products.
  • 2+ Years of experience working in a customer service role.

REGION SALES MANAGER - WEST COAST:

SMA is seeking a Region Sales Manager based in or near our Fresno, California distribution facility to lead our Team of Territory Managers in their sales and marketing efforts while working together to develop new customers and capitalize on new market opportunities.

This Position Will Be Responsible For:

  • Managing a team of 10+ Territory Managers.
  • Achieving annual sales goals within the Region.
  • Recruiting, training, and coaching Territory Managers.
  • Developing new customers and market segments.
  • Managing pricing and promotion for key products within the Region.
  • Researching and assisting with the development of new products.
  • Providing senior-level account management to top-tier customers.

Requirements Include:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a business or agriculture related field.
  • 5+ years of managerial or leadership experience in an inside or outside sales position.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and team building skills.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time.
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Strong understanding of the aftermarket / all-makes agricultural parts market.
  • Knowledge of regional agriculture trends and topics.
  • Experience working with farm supply stores, farm equipment dealerships, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Experience navigating CRM software and analyzing sales metrics.

SMA is seeking a Territory Sales Manager based in Minnesota to lead the sales efforts of the current SMA Customer Network while working to develop new customers and capitalize on new market opportunities.  

This position will be responsible for:

  • Actively calling on a customer network within an assigned Territory.
  • Achieving annual sales goals within the assigned Territory.
  • Training customers on the SMA website and other interactive tools.
  • Developing new customers and market segments in the area.
  • Researching and recommending new product opportunities.
  • Recording customer interactions in the SMA Customer Resource Management (CRM) system
  • Monitoring accounts that go past due, and assisting in securing payments as needed

Requirements Include:

  • 5 years of experience calling on a customer/dealer network.
  • Experience within the agriculture industry.
  • Excellent communication and sales skills.
  • Ability to travel 90% of the time. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong understanding of the aftermarket / all-makes agricultural parts market.
  • Previous experience working in production agriculture.
  • Experience working with farm supply stores, farm equipment dealerships, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Sales or Agricultural related field.
